Activity 2

Auxiliary services were provided to all students. Over 700 students were provided housing and meals. The first PassiveHaus residence hall in the United States was opened to students, located in the center of campus, recognizing the college's commitment to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and resource efficiency. A popular regional restaurant opened up a new location in a campus-owned building, providing additional meal options for students. The Mercantile continued to provide books, art and school supplies, and essential grocery and health products to students for their convenience.

Activity 3

Various services were provided to students through many programs and offices, including intramural sports, general athletics, the Outdoor Program, spiritual life, the Martin Brock Student Center, Admissions, Financial Aid, the Registrar, the Student Health Center, the Appalachian Center for Community Service, the Bonner Program, The Centralized Student Assistance Office, and the Office of the Dean of Students. Over 890 students received some form of financial aid through various funded and unfunded scholarships, and grants, providing the opportunity to pursue degrees. Campus employment was made available to many students, providing financial resources and valuable work experience. Many community service opportunities were provided through the Appalachian Center, the Outdoor Program, and the Chaplain's Office. The intramural program continued to expand, with over 50% of students participating in an least one sport. Summer orientation programs were expanded, hosting 253 students and their families. The Outdoor Program continued to grow, through the Adventure Program and the Outdoor Leadership Program.
