Voting & elections-in colorado, worked with allies to successfully defeat two proof of citizenship for voting measures, a photo id for voting bill, and an attempt to move to all vote-by-mail elections that did not have adequate safeguards in place to protect voter access.-in california common, led a successful campaign to preserve and strengthen a landmark state law creating a bi-partisan citizens redistricting commission.-in massachusetts, led a successful drive for adoption of the compact by the state legislature. -in florida, helped secure voter approval of state constitutional amendments that set new rules to take partisan politics out of congressional and state legislative redistricting.

Activity 3

Ethics, transparency, & accountability in government-in georgia, launched the georgia alliance for ethics reform, which is working to pass strong ethics legislation during the 2011 and 2012 georgia legislative sessions. -continued pressure for filibuster reform in the u.s. Senate. Continued to meet with senate leaders, put together the first comprehensive version of what a strong reform package should include, distributed to all senators as they debated internally what to put in their resolution. The reform package introduced and co-sponsored by 25 senators drew largely from our initial proposal.
