Kansas farm bureau's farm leader letter is a hard copy newsletter that keeps voting members informed on issues that impact their farms and ranches. From oct. 1, 2011 to sept. 30, 2012, the leader letter was published 20 times and reached an average of 37,500 households per publication. Every issue contains updates on legislative action that impacts kansas farmers and ranchers as well as important updates and information regarding their farm organization.

Activity 3

Kansas farm bureau's voice of agriculture radio program is a broadcast-delivered communications program that reached a majority of the target listening audience (adults 18+) with a message sponsored by the farmers and ranchers of kansas farm bureau about relevant agriculture-related information and issues. The audio programs were created to provide target listeners with vital national and statewide agriculture news and issues that can impact agriculture and the lives of people across kansas. The audio program was structured as a one-minute daily news format that aired two times per day, five days per week(m-f), 52 weeks (520 times)per year. The audio program aired across the state on 39 radio stations that have a significant number of target listeners between 6 a.m. And 7 p.m. At the discretion of each radio station. From october 1, 2011 to september 30, 2012 on a cumulative basis, the radio program aired 20,280 times (520 programs x 39 stations) and generated over 15,000 gross rating points (grps) annually. This means on average nearly 65% of target listners heard an audio program about three times per week or 156 times per year.
