“To support the ongoing efforts of the mission of Our Three Winners, a general-support grant of $15,000 was made to The Light House Project (Light House Group Inc), a non-profit organization located at 1127 Kildaire Farm Rd, Cary NC, 27511 dedicated to empowering Muslim Americans in the Triangle through community and faith. They aim to create a safe space and a welcoming environment that nurtures personal, spiritual, and social growth. They aim to equip leaders with the tools and resources to positively impact their communities and the world at large. To support the ongoing efforts of the mission of Our Three Winners, a project-specific grant of $15,000 was made to Raleigh Wake County Dental Society to support the DYOR Clinic. The DYOR clinic provides free oral health care to refugees and those displaced to North Carolina, as well as local underserved adults. To support the ongoing efforts of the mission of Our Three Winners, a project-specific grant of $20,000 was made to the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU) to fund Muslims in Popular Media: An Audience Study, a study to examine and quantify the responses of American audiences of varying religious and cultural backgrounds to the anti-Muslim tropes previous studies have documented, and the impact of these audience responses on their willingness to lend public support anti-Muslim and undemocratic state policy. To support the ongoing efforts of the mission of Our Three Winners, a project-specific grant of $15,000 was made to SSD Films LLC, to support 36 SECONDS: A PORTRAIT OF A HATE CRIME, a documentary film by Tarek Albaba. In 2015, three Muslim-American students (now known as Our Three Winners) were executed while eating dinner in their home in Chapel Hill, NC. The film examines their families search for justice and activism to set the record straight and open dialogue about hate crimes against Muslims in an increasingly divisive America. The film also examines the themes of bias in the media, white supremacy, and systemic racism.”
