At the heart of artechs mission is our goal of providing our community a supportive environment where they can explore and expand the possibilities of their imagination. This goes beyond simply teaching them how to create art. We believe in the transformative power of creativity. We have seen first-hand how exposure to creativity in an encouraging and safe learning environment has helped people find their voice and passion. As people are exposed to art and the creative process, it becomes an integral part of their lives. These experiences will be the catalyst to a lifetime appreciation of and a respect for their own creativity and the creativity of others.

“Design and oversight of the reno playa art park. For the past six years, weve brought major sculptures from the burning man festival to downtown reno, transforming a vacant lot in the heart of the casino district into a colorful, welcoming place for visitors and locals to interact with public art. Art by world-famous sculptors, with each installation lasting for a year. From 2017-2023, we placed 16 temporary artworks in a blighted area. This project resulted in additional art installations throughout reno. Working with local developers artech installed 13 more sculptures in downtown reno for the reno neon line and 3 sculptures for red, a new apartment complex on plumb avenue. Production of the sierra arts festival. This event featured local, regional and national artists in downtown reno, on no. Virginia street between 4th and 6th streets. This highlighted the casino area in a vibrant new way, bringing families and visitors downtown to experience fine art, live mural painting, music, dance and local performers. Developing an affordable art educational program in our community outreach space at on woodland. Artech has an amazing multi-purpose space with many artists working there and is perfect for classes. Our plans are to increase the workshops and classes offered there, especially reaching out to youth. In 2023 we partnered with the sierra arts foundations art academy to bring workshops to our studio space so artists, artech and sierra arts could offer a broader selection of classes to the community moving forward. We partnered with the drakulich foundation in 2023 to provide free fundamental art classes to veterans and their families on a weekly basis. Artechs mission is providing unique experiences by creating community-gathering spaces around art, like the playa art park and the artech warehouse space itself. We work to engage the community in an active way, not making people simply witnesses to art. From 2017-2023, we hosted our washoe county high school sculpture competition. This competition was to help promote art among schools. Entries for this competition come from all the washoe county school district high schools. We awarded 1,500-2,000 to students and also gave out gift certificates for classes and art supplies. Over 100 family members, teachers, and friends have attended the opening receptions. In 2019 we opened our studio to the david j. Drakulich foundation, whose mission is to improve healing and reintegration outcomes of the military and the military connected community through the arts, humanities and recreation. Djd foundation empowers and showcases the wellness of veterans. We create art, humanities and recreation resources that support individuals as they improve and develop the quality of their own lives, one veteran at a time, one community at a time because art heals war wounds. Artech will be providing on-going classes at our woodland studio in glass, drawing, collage and portraiture.”
