Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 4

Significant changes to the organization's governing documents: in the event that one tech coalition member acquires another, the parent company will remain the active member. If the subsidiary desires to maintain the same level of visibility that it had then the subsidiary will be required to pay annual dues, in addition to the dues the parent company pays. If the subsidiary wishes to stay active without visibility for its brand then it will be able to do so without paying annual dues. Under no circumstances will the parent and the subsidiary each have a vote or a seat on the board; both of these will be maintained by the parent company.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8B

No committees with authority to act on behalf of the governing body were formed in 2017.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

A draft of the tax return is reviewed by the board of directors prior to filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

The salary of the executive director is reviewed and approved by the board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The coalition provides copies upon request.

IRS990/Desc0CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN CONFERENCE, "TECH TRACK" - 2017 MARKED THE FIFTH YEAR THAT THE TECHNOLOGY COALITION HAS HOSTED A DAY OF WORKSHOPS, CALLED THE "TECH TRACK," AT THE CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN CONFERENCE (CACC). THE CACC, HELD IN DALLAS EACH YEAR, IS AN INTERNATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED EVENT THAT PROVIDES PRACTICAL INSTRUCTION TO PROFESSIONALS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMBATING THE MANY AND VARIED FORMS OF CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN. THE "TECH TRACK" OFFERS A FORUM FOR THE TECH INDUSTRY AT-LARGE TO DISCUSS TOPICS RELATED TO FIGHTING ONLINE CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION WHILE SETTING STANDARDS FOR ACTION-ORIENTED COLLABORATION. THIS ENABLES TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES TO ENHANCE THEIR OWN STRATEGIES AND TOOLS FOR ADDRESSING CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION ON THEIR SYSTEMS.
