Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 4

Significant changes to the organization's governing documents: in the event that there is a change in control of a company that is a current member, the board of directors will consider membership for the "new" company using the technology coalition's membership criteria: - the business of the potential member needs to be technology-related. - it must have a product affected by child exploitation, and an evident effort to clean said product. - it must have a demonstrated track record on contributing to this issue. - no vendors - for reduced dues: emerging company/org with limited resources. The board will approve new members by at least an 80% vote.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8B

No committees with authority to act on behalf of the governing body were formed in 2016.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

A draft of the tax return is reviewed by the board of directors prior to filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

The salary of the executive director is reviewed and approved by the board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The coalition provides copies upon request.

IRS990/Desc0CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN CONFERENCE, "TECH TRACK" - 2016 MARKED THE FOURTH YEAR THAT THE TECHNOLOGY COALITION HAS HOSTED A DAY OF WORKSHOPS, CALLED THE "TECH TRACK," AT THE CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN CONFERENCE (CACC). THE CACC, HELD IN DALLAS EACH YEAR, IS AN INTERNATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED EVENT THAT PROVIDES PRACTICAL INSTRUCTION TO PROFESSIONALS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMBATING THE MANY AND VARIED FORMS OF CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN. THE "TECH TRACK" OFFERS A FORUM FOR THE TECH INDUSTRY AT-LARGE TO DISCUSS TOPICS RELATED TO FIGHTING ONLINE CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION WHILE SETTING STANDARDS FOR ACTION-ORIENTED COLLABORATION. THIS ENABLES TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES TO ENHANCE THEIR OWN STRATEGIES AND TOOLS FOR ADDRESSING CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION ON THEIR SYSTEMS.
