Additional Explanations

FORM 990, PART XI, LINE 9:

The coalition received a total of $437,377 from the national center for missing and exploited children (ncmec) in 2015. These funds were contributed by donors in prior years to ncmec for the purpose of funding a campaign against child sexual exploitation on the internet. Through august 13, 2015, ncmec held the donated funds, disbursing those amounts needed to carry on the project. By joint agreement, the coalition, now organized as a separate organization, agreed to receive the remaining funds in the project and to carry on the project according to the original donors' intent.

IRS990/Desc0CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN CONFERENCE, "TECH TRACK" - 2015 MARKED THE THIRD YEAR THAT THE TECHNOLOGY COALITION HAS HOSTED A DAY OF WORKSHOPS, CALLED THE "TECH TRACK," AT THE CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN CONFERENCE (CACC). THE CACC, HELD IN DALLAS EACH YEAR, IS AN INTERNATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED EVENT THAT PROVIDES PRACTICAL INSTRUCTION TO PROFESSIONALS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMBATING THE MANY AND VARIED FORMS OF CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN. THE "TECH TRACK" OFFERS A FORUM FOR THE TECH INDUSTRY AT-LARGE TO DISCUSS TOPICS RELATED TO FIGHTING ONLINE CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION WHILE SETTING STANDARDS FOR ACTION-ORIENTED COLLABORATION. THIS ENABLES TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES TO ENHANCE THEIR OWN STRATEGIES AND TOOLS FOR ADDRESSING CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION ON THEIR SYSTEMS.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0EMPLOYEE RESILIENCE GUIDEBOOK - THE TECHNOLOGY COALITION HAS CREATED THE "EMPLOYEE RESILIENCE GUIDEBOOK FOR HANDLING CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IMAGES", A SET OF PRACTICES AND GUIDELINES AROUND CONTENT HANDLING PROCEDURES AND OTHER PRACTICES THAT HELP EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ON THE FRONTLINES IN THE FIGHT AGAINST ONLINE CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION. COMPLYING WITH LAWS AGAINST ONLINE CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION IS AN IMPORTANT AND POTENTIALLY CHALLENGING RESPONSIBILITY FOR COMPANIES THAT OFFER INTERNET SERVICES. THE GUIDEBOOK'S OBJECTIVE IS TO PROVIDE A HIGH-LEVEL SUMMARY OF AN ORGANIZATION'S OBLIGATIONS RELATED TO REPORTING APPARENT CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIAL (CSAM) THAT MAY BE ON ITS SYSTEMS. IN ADDITION, THE GUIDEBOOK OFFERS A SET OF SUGGESTED PRACTICES AND GUIDELINES TO SUPPORT THOSE EMPLOYEES WHO HAVE EXPOSURE TO ONLINE CSAM IN THE COURSE OF THEIR WORK. THE FIRST ISSUE OF THE GUIDEBOOK WAS PUBLISHED IN JULY 2013. IN 2015 THE TECHNOLOGY COALITION PUBLISHED AN UPDATED AND EXPANDED VERSION.
