Form 990, Part III- Additional Information

Housing in 2021, 3,810 clients agency-wide participated in housing education and/or housing counseling. Under caf's hud multi-state organization approval for the states of arizona, iowa, and nebraska we provide a variety of housing counseling and education, such as: fair housing pre-purchase counseling and education, financial management/budget counseling, mortgage delinquency and default resolution counseling, rental housing counseling and tenancy workshops, and services for homeless counseling. 1,971 clients located in caf's hud approved geographic locations received full housing counseling and education services during the 2021 calendar year. Education the foundation offers credit education services to the public which includes credit counseling, budgeting services, action plans, publications and speakers. In 2021, credit advisors foundation provided credit counseling to 5,711 individuals, of these, 2,086 received budgets/credit counseling and action plans which included debt management plans. 1,962 education topic specific hot sheets were distributed. Credit advisors foundation additionally geared toward money management. Publications are delivered with focuses on spending, budgeting, and consumer news. All of these are distributed free of charge. Public speakers are also available to give presentations to various groups requesting financial education. Among these groups are high schools, social service agencies, colleges and community agency partners. Speakers instruct the groups on a wide variety of consumer topics related to the proper use and management of credit. Approximately, 255 people at 25 presentations benefited from these services. Finally, our website is regularly updated with valuable consumer information and access to on-line interactive q&a's. Debt management plans of the 5,711 individuals we counseled in 2021, 445 required long-term commitment to budgeting and managing debt which resulted in a debt management plan recommendation. For those individuals placed on a debt management plan, a budget is created, arrangements are made with creditors, and the client receives continuous education throughout the time they are on the plan. This education includes access to our client advisors, attendance in our seminars, on-line debt management, consumer education modules, publications and counselor initiated counseling throughout the plan. Bankruptcy counseling the foundation is approved by the executive office of the united states trustee to provide pre-bankruptcy counseling and certification in person, on the phone, or over the internet in all 21 judicial districts, and alabama and north carolina, to consumers experiencing financial difficulties and contemplating bankruptcy. This counseling is provided free of charge, for hardship cases or in those cases where the client cannot afford to pay. In 2021, 1,641 credit counseling certificates were issued. Of these, approximately 111 clients received wavers. Representative payee services in 2021 we provided these services to 113 individuals in conjunction with social security administration.

Financial Statement Notes

PART IV, LINE 2B:

Credit advisors foundation credit counseling and debt management through its various accomplishments as outlined in schedule o related to housing, education, debt management plans, bankruptcy counseling, and respresentative payee services. Credit advisors receives funds from consumer's and forwards along those payments to the consumers corresponding debtors/creditors on their behalf. The escrow balances at the end of the month is $0 for debt management clients. The client balance reflected in part x is for representative payee services.

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization's status changed as of may 7, 2010 to a nonprofit organization under section 509(a)(2) of the internal revenue code and is exempt from federal and state income taxes and is considered an organization other than a private foundation. The effective date of this change was january 1, 2009. The organization's previous foundation status classification was 509(a)(1). As of december 31, 2021, the organization has no uncertain tax positions that qualify for either recognition or disclosure in the financial statements and there are no material amounts of unrecognized tax benefits. Tax years subsequent to 2018 remain subject to examination by major tax jurisdictions.

EDUCATION THE FOUNDATION OFFERS CREDIT EDUCATION SERVICES TO THE PUBLIC WHICH INCLUDES CREDIT COUNSELING, BUDGETING SERVICES, ACTION PLANS, PUBLICATIONS AND SPEAKERS. IN 2021, CREDIT ADVISORS FOUNDATION PROVIDED CREDIT COUNSELING TO 5,711 INDIVIDUALS, OF THESE, 2,086 RECEIVED BUDGETS/CREDIT COUNSELING AND ACTION PLANS WHICH INCLUDED DEBT MANAGEMENT PLANS. 1,962 EDUCATION TOPIC SPECIFIC HOT SHEETS WERE DISTRIBUTED. CREDIT ADVISORS FOUNDATION ADDITIONALLY GEARED TOWARD MONEY MANAGEMENT. PUBLICATIONS ARE DELIVERED WITH FOCUSES ON SPENDING, BUDGETING, AND CONSUMER NEWS. ALL OF THESE ARE DISTRIBUTED FREE OF CHARGE. PUBLIC SPEAKERS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE TO GIVE PRESENTATIONS TO VARIOUS GROUPS REQUESTING FINANCIAL EDUCATION. AMONG THESE GROUPS ARE HIGH SCHOOLS, SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES, COLLEGES AND COMMUNITY AGENCY PARTNERS. SPEAKERS INSTRUCT THE GROUPS ON A WIDE VARIETY OF CONSUMER TOPICS RELATED TO THE PROPER USE AND MANAGEMENT OF CREDIT. APPROXIMATELY, 255 PEOPLE AT 25 PRESENTATIONS BENEFITED FROM THESE SERVICES. THIS EDUCATION INCLUDES ACCESS TO OUR CLIENT ADVISORS, ATTENDANCE IN OUR SEMINARS, ON-LINE DEBT MANAGEMENT, CONSUMER EDUCATION MODULES, PUBLICATIONS AND COUNSELOR INITIATED COUNSELING THROUGHOUT THE PLAN. BANKRUPTCY COUNSELING THE FOUNDATION IS APPROVED BY THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE UNITED STATES TRUSTEE TO PROVIDE PRE-BANKRUPTCY COUNSELING AND CERTIFICATION IN PERSON, ON THE PHONE, OR OVER THE INTERNET IN ALL 21 JUDICIAL DISTRICTS, AND ALABAMA AND NORTH CAROLINA, TO CONSUMERS EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES AND CONTEMPLATING BANKRUPTCY.
