The districts represents its stakeholders before the city council and other agencies, and seeks additional funding streams to improve the district. Efforts include transit improvements such as the "free b" shuttle to ensure that district residents, businesses, workers, and tourists have access to and from city center bart and other oakland central business district locations, train on-grade crossing improvements, as well as coordination with stakeholder agencies such as the port of oakland, amtrak, southern pacific, and caltrans. We expect the benefits to broaden as an improved standard is established, maintained, and even more people enjoy living, working, and visiting our district.”
