“2024 was a year of growth, recognition, and powerful conversations at dmax foundation. Together with our students, partners, and supporters, we advanced our mission to create connections and conversations that matter to strengthen mental health and emotional well being for young people. Recognition & awards -in june, our founders lee and laurie maxwell received the lifesaver of the year award from the greater philadelphia chapter of the american foundation for suicide prevention. This honor recognized their 12 years of leadership in building dmax foundation into a reliable, effective, and impactful organization for college student mental health. Expanding conversations -launched our first official conversation toolkit, dmax conversations that matter: body positivity and acceptance, in partnership with the aerie real foundation. This student-created resource provides history, reflection questions, and event ideas to help students lead meaningful conversations about body image and mental health. -released two powerful episodes of dmax students speak (season 5): -body neutrality & acceptance (march), featuring guest speaker meghan peters and student storyteller na'mia kelly. -mental health & identity (october), sponsored by malvern behavioral health, with student leaders from cheyney and millersville sharing stories on social media, disability, and mental health. This was our largest dss event ever, with 50 participants. Student impact -grew our dmax diplomat program, recruiting student leaders in pittsburgh, philadelphia, and new york city. Through 21 tabling events on 13 campuses, nearly 300 students connected with dmax. This expansion sets the stage for 13 active dmax clubs in 2025. -supported 6 active dmax clubs, where students continue to meet weekly for peer-to-peer connection and support. Events & community building -speak: a storytelling event (april) brought together 60 attendees at yards brewing company to hear personal mental health stories and honor student and community leaders. -day out with dmax (september) gathered board members, staff, students, and supporters for a fun day at the premiere lacrosse championship in chester, pa, strengthening community bonds. Looking ahead with more campuses joining, new resources in development, and strong momentum from 2024, dmax is poised to expand its reach in 2025, bringing conversations that connect to even more students on more college campuses through connections. The organization received 93,712 as in-kind service which was not included for the purpose of 990 reporting.”
