Form 990, Part VIII

In late 2017, dmax received a 30,000 contribution that was restricted to cover 2018 expenses only and not to cover any expenses in 2017. Accounting guidelines required that the full amount be treated as a 2017 contribution on the statement of revenue but classified as a temporarily restricted net asset on the balance sheet at the end of 2017 and beginning of 2018 (part x, line 28, page 11), and removed by end of year 2018.

Dmax creates trusting environments for frank discussions of mental health issues and concerns, at colleges through dmax clubs, and in the community of suburban philadelphia via educational and social events. Dmax clubs provide a trusting environment for college students to have honest everyday conversations about mental health so they can understand and help each other. Clubs are not therapy, but meet regularly to have fun, talk and help students know they are not alone in their struggles. There are currently five dmax clubs at the following colleges: elon university, north carolina, penn state main campus, drexel university and temple university in philadelphia, and university of maryland. Dmax foundation's educational and social events in suburban philadelphia engage the local community in honest conversations about mental health and mental illness. Keynote speakers have included former congressman patrick kennedy, dr. Dan gottlieb, professional athletes and others. Dmax foundation is partnering with companies that care about mental health in the workforce and about college students, their next generation employees. To that end, a survey was conducted with target audience college students and working adults asking questions about "what causes stress, what resources do you use or would like to use to alleviate stress; and who can you talk to when you are experiencing emotional stress and what is the result of talking. Per instructions, revenues and expenses do not include 24,325 in donated space and services.
