“Ms. Uyen Khue Le has been the organization's part-time CFO-Secretary and she is the half-sister of Mr. Phuong Nhan Le, who is the CEO of the organization. Ms. Uyen Khue Le has transitioned to be on a consultant basis since 2015 and will remain this status until the organization can find a suitable longer term replacement.”

“The potential for conflict of interest is brought up as part of every Board of Directors meeting. The grantees and potential grantees are reviewed for possible conflict of interest with each director and staff. Annual statement disclosing possible or on-going conflict of interest is signed by each director and key staff of the organization and maintained on file by the organization. The organization's conflict of interest policy was last revised by a sub-committee in 2016.”

“The salary for the CEO position was determined in December 2013 by looking at the best practice level of the industry and the size and activities of the organization, balancing it with the necessity of living expenses part-time in Viet Nam and in the US. The report was presented to the Board of Directors for their approval (with Dr. Phuong Le abstained from voting). The decision was made at the level of $72,000 per year and has not changed since. With the approval of the Board, Dr. Phuong Le became a non-paid volunteer with RHE starting April 1, 2018. Likewise, due to the decreased workload, the CFO/Secretary part-time consultancy fee was decreased to $1,000 per month since 2017.”
