Ten small grants were made to the neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) of ten public hospitals in Vietnam in the provinces of Thai Binh, Cao Bang, Yen Bai and Bac Kan. With the aim of increasing opportunities on topics in social work, Community and Family Services International (CFSI), with funding support from the Resources for Health Equity (RHE), carried out a short training course on "Introduction to Online Learning Platforms" for thirty personnel of the Department of Social Welfare (DSW) of the Union of Myanmar's Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement (MSWRR). The short training course was conducted in two batches: one on 18 February 2020 and another on 19 February 2020. Each batch was composed of fifteen MSWRR personnel. All thirty participants completed the training course and received a training certificate from CFSI and MSWRR, as well as course certificates from one of the online learning platforms, specifically DisasterReady. The overall goal of the short training course on Introduction to Online Learning Platforms was to introduce thirty colleagues from the MSWRR to some of the more relevant online learning platforms, with the hope of developing much greater interest in this approach to human resources development in social work. Specifically, the envisaged outcomes of the SWOP include: (1) Increased interest in, and commitment to, online learning, both individually and collectively; (2) Sharing within the MSWRR of materials obtained through, and lessons learned from, online learning; (3) Evidence of openness to online learning being reflected in employee performance evaluations; and (4) Preliminary plan for increasing accessibility within the MSWRR to the hardware and internet connections required for scaled up online learning.$5,000$65
