IN 2018 THE ORGANIZATION SOUGHT TO ACCOMPLISH BEING FINANCIALLY SUSTAINABLE, OPERATIONALLY EXCELLENT, CUSTOMER FOCUSED, COST EFFICIENT AND NETWORK EFFECTIVE. THE SEVEN MEASURES OF SUCCESS SERVE RANCHIN' VETS AS CLEAR OBJECTIVES THAT WE UTILIZE TO ASCERTAIN WE ARE ACHIEVING THE GOALS OF OUR PROGRAM. THESE CLEAR OBJECTIVES HOWEVER, DO NOT MEASURE WHAT PERCENTAGE OF THE VETERANS STAY IN AGRICULTURAL JOBS FOR A SAID PERIOD OF TIME- AS THAT IS NOT OUR GOAL. THE OBJECTIVES SET FORTH AND ADOPTED BY OUR BOARD, DO MEASURE THE OVERALL WELL-BEING OF THE VETERANS WE SERVE AS THEY TRANSITION OUT OF THE MILITARY, BY SUCCESSFULLY ASSURING AT LEAST 75% OF THOSE WE SERVE, MEET AT LEAST FOUR OF THE SEVEN MEASURES OF SUCCESS BELOW: OTHE VETERAN OBTAINS AGRICULTURAL WORK WITHIN 90 DAYS OF SUCCESSFULLY REGISTERING WITH OUR OPERATION HIRE A VET PROGRAM. OTHE VETERAN IN OUR OPERATION HIRE A VET PROGRAM MET THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THEIR AGRICULTURAL POSITION. OTHE VETERAN BENEFITTED PHYSICALLY AND/OR EMOTIONALLY FROM THEIR PARTICIPATION IN OUR OPERATION HIRE A VET PROGRAM. OTHE VETERAN DEVELOPED/EXPLORED A CAREER INTEREST OR OPPORTUNITY THROUGH THEIR PARTICIPATION IN OUR OPERATION HIRE A VET PROGRAM. OTHE FLEXIBILITY OF THE VETERAN'S POSITION IN THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY PROVIDED AN OPPORTUNITY TO ENROLL IN A TRADE SCHOOL, COMMUNITY COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY, FURTHERING THEIR OPTIONS AS THEY REINTEGRATE INTO CIVILIAN LIFE. OTHE VETERAN COMPLETED SIX MONTHS WITH THEIR AGRICULTURAL EMPLOYER OR FILLED THE FULL TERM OF THEIR EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT. OTHE VETERAN SOUGHT GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT FROM MEMBERS AND VETERANS SERVING ON OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THE MOST WEIGHTED MEASUREMENT OF SUCCESS OF ACHIEVING OUR OBJECTIVE REMAINS THAT 100% OF THE VETERANS PARTICIPATING IN OUR OPERATION HIRE A VET PROGRAM, PROVIDE A POSITIVE NARRATIVE AT THE END OF THEIR TIME IN OUR PROGRAM. SINCE OUR INCEPTION, JUST OVER 90% OF THE VETERANS WE HAVE SERVED HAVE ACHIEVED AT LEAST FOUR OF THESE SEVEN MEASURES OF SUCCESS. THE STRONGEST MEASUREMENT OF OUR SUCCESS IN 2018, IS THAT 97% OF THE VETERANS PARTICIPATING IN OPERATION HIRE A VET, ATTAINED FIVE OF THE SEVEN MEASURES OF SUCCESS. IN 2018, TO ASSURE FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY IN MEETING THE CURRENT AND FUTURE NEEDS OF VETERANS RANCHIN' VETS SERVES, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVED THE 2018 BUDGET. THE FINANCIAL GOALS FOR 2018 WERE TO BE ATTAINED THROUGH GRANTS, DONORS (INCLUDING AN ACTIVE GIVING BOARD) AND FUNDRAISING EVENTS. BY THE END OF 2018, RANCHIN' VETS MET 83% OF ITS GOAL. OUR STRATEGIC PLAN CALLED FOR OUTREACH TO VETERANS ON A NATIONAL LEVEL IN 2018. THROUGH ATTAINING THIS GOAL AND EXPANDING OUR VETERAN OUTREACH, WE SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED THE VETERANS WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM ITS ORGANIZATION IN 2019 AND BEYOND. RANCHIN' VETS HAS ASSURED ITS FINANCIAL SOLVENCY THROUGH STRONG, STEADY AND METHODICAL GROWTH. RANCHIN' VETS PHILOSOPHY IS TO ASSURE THE FINANCIAL STRENGTH OF THE ORGANIZATION, TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE VETERANS THEY SERVE. BEING OPERATIONALLY EXCELLENT, IS TANDEM TO BEING FINANCIALLY SUSTAINABLE. HOWEVER, SPECIFICALLY WITHIN THE 2018 STRATEGIC PLAN, BEING OPERATIONALLY EXCELLENT SPECIFICALLY RELATES TO MEETING THE FINANCIAL NEEDS OF RANCHIN' VETS OPERATION HIRE A VET PROGRAM. THE FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY WHICH GUIDES RANCHIN' VETS ASSURED THAT THE ORGANIZATION WAS INDEED OPERATIONALLY EXCELLENT IN 2018. RANCHIN' VETS EXISTS TO "SERVE THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED US". THEREFORE, EACH YEAR, INCLUDING 2018, OUR STRATEGIC PLAN EMPHASIZES BEING CUSTOMER FOCUSED. A CUSTOMER IS THE VETERAN WE SERVE AND ONE WHO HAS CHOICES AS TO WHERE TO ATTAIN SERVICES AND SUPPORT. RANCHIN' VETS STRIVES TO BE AN ORGANIZATION THAT TRULY AND UNCONDITIONALLY, GIVES BACK TO THE VETERAN. THE VETERAN IS THE PRIORITY. WITH THE VETERAN AS OUR PRIORITY, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS INSTRUCTED THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR TO SPEND 85% OF HER TIME FOCUSING ON THE PROGRAM ITSELF, AND TO LIMIT TIME SPENT ON ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES TO 15%. RANCHIN' VETS COULD NOT ACCOMPLISH ITS GOALS OF PROVIDING GUIDANCE, SUPPORT AND OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF RANCHERS, FARMERS AND OTHER AGRICULTURAL EMPLOYERS. RANCHIN' VETS VALUES OUR AGRICULTURAL "PARNTERS". WITHIN THE STRATEGIC PLAN, THE AGRICULTURAL EMPLOYER IS ALSO VIEWED AS A CUSTOMER. RANCHIN' VETS IS AN EXCELLENT RESOURCE FOR THESE EMPLOYERS, PROVIDING HARD WORKING, COMMITTED, RESPONSIBLE VETERANS AS A POTENTIAL EMPLOYEE WITH A UNIQUE WILLINGNESS, AND EAGERNESS FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY. DURING THE YEAR OF 2018, 26 VETERANS WERE SERVED BY RANCHIN' VETS. WE CONTINUE TO HOLD AN ANNUAL GALA, AS OUR PRIMARY FUNDRAISER, IN ADDITION TO FIVE OTHER COMMUNITY EVENTS. THE AUXILIARY BOARD THAT RANCHIN' VETS FORMED IN 2016 HAS TAKEN AN ACTIVE ROLE IN THE SUCCESS OF THESE EVENTS. THE AUXILIARY BOARD IS COMPRISED OF 8 VOLUNTEERS, WHO LIVE GEOGRAPHICALLY ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THE PURPOSE OF THE AUXILIARY BOARD IS TO DIRECTLY ASSIST THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR WITH ACHIEVING THE ANNUAL FUNDRAISING AND NETWORK GOALS. RANCHIN' VETS MAINTAINS AN ACTIVE BOARD. IN 2018 OUR SUB- COMMITTEES WERE COMPRISED OF FINANCE, VETERAN SERVICES, AND AGRICULTURAL OUTREACH. THESE HAVE PROVEN TO ASSIST OUR ORGANIZATION IN WORKING MORE EFFICIENTLY. IN ADDITION, THESE SUB-COMMITTEES HAVE PROVIDED AN OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR BOARD TO BE EVEN MORE ENGAGED IN OUR PROGRAM. IN 2018, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS TOOK ON MORE RESPONSIBILITY SO THAT THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR COULD FOCUS ON THE VETERAN SERVICES OF OUR PROGRAM. WE STRIVE TO ALWAYS IMPROVE OUR ABILITY TO WORK MOST EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY WITH THE RESOURCES WE HAVE AS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION. THROUGH THE NONPROFIT SUCCESS PACKAGE, RANCHIN' VETS HAS TEN LICENSES WITH SALESFORCE AT NO COST. OUR PROGRAM DIRECTOR ENROLLED IN PREMIER SUCCESS, AN ONLINE SUPPORT PACKAGE FOR SALESFORCE USERS THAT OFFERED ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING AND SUPPORT TAILORED SPECIFICALLY TO OUR ORGANIZATION. WE ARE DEDICATED TO MAXIMIZING THIS GREAT TOOL, AND MAINTAINING CLEAN ORGANIZED DATA THAT WILL HELP OUR ORGANIZATION OPERATE MOST EFFICIENTLY. VITAL TO THE FUTURE OF RANCHIN' VETS IS TO MAINTAIN AND GROW AN EFFECTIVE NETWORK. IN THE FOURTH QUARTER OF 2018, WE BEGAN TO WORK WITH A PROGRAM DEVELOPER WHO DONATED HIS TIME AND EXPERTISE PRO BONO, AS WELL AS A WEBSITE DESIGNER TO REVAMP OUR ONLINE PRESENCE AND TO INTEGRATE THE VETERAN REGISTRATION PROCESS THROUGH WEB-TO-LEAD ENHANCEMENTS TO MEET THE GROWING NUMBER OF VETERANS WE ARE SERVING. IN 2019, WE ARE GOING TO BEGIN THIS "PHASE 1" STREAMLINED PROCESS FOR VETERANS, AS WELL AS "PHASE 2", WITH OUR RANCHING AND FARMING COMMUNITIES WHO ARE AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT IN RANCHIN' VETS GROWTH. A STRONG NETWORK ALLOWS US TO CONTINUE TO MEET THE COMMITMENT AND THE SERVICES WE PROVIDED TO VETERANS IN OUR PROGRAM. DURING 2018, THE EFFORTS OF RANCHIN' VETS TO ENHANCE THEIR NETWORK PROVIDED INCREASED FUNDING FOR OUR PROGRAM WHICH DIRECTLY IMPACTED AND INCREASED THE VETERANS THAT REGISTERED FOR OUR PROGRAM. The mission of ranchin' vets is to assist post-9/11 veterans in their transition from military to civilian life through a variety of programs offered within the agricultural industry.

Ranchin' vets sole ongoing project, operation hire a vet, measures its program accomplishments based on the seven measures of success adopted by its board of directors and by accomplishing the goals outlined in the annual strategic plan approved by its board of directors. In 2018 the organization sought to accomplish being financially sustainable, operationally excellent, customer focused, cost efficient and network effective. The seven measures of success serve ranchin' vets as clear objectives that we utilize to ascertain we are achieving the goals of our program. These clear objectives however, do not measure what percentage of the veterans stay in agricultural jobs for a said period of time- as that is not our goal. The objectives set forth and adopted by our board, do measure the overall well-being of the veterans we serve as they transition out of the military, by successfully assuring at least 75% of those we serve, meet at least four of the seven measures of success below: othe veteran obtains agricultural work within 90 days of successfully registering with our operation hire a vet program. Othe veteran in our operation hire a vet program met the responsibilities of their agricultural position. Othe veteran benefitted physically and/or emotionally from their participation in our operation hire a vet program. Othe veteran developed/explored a career interest or opportunity through their participation in our operation hire a vet program. Othe flexibility of the veteran's position in the agricultural industry provided an opportunity to enroll in a trade school, community college or university, furthering their options as they reintegrate into civilian life. Othe veteran completed six months with their agricultural employer or filled the full term of their employment agreement. Othe veteran sought guidance and support from members and veterans serving on our board of directors. The most weighted measurement of success of achieving our objective remains that 100% of the veterans participating in our operation hire a vet program, provide a positive narrative at the end of their time in our program. Since our inception, just over 90% of the veterans we have served have achieved at least four of these seven measures of success. The strongest measurement of our success in 2018, is that 97% of the veterans participating in operation hire a vet, attained five of the seven measures of success. In 2018, to assure financial sustainability in meeting the current and future needs of veterans ranchin' vets serves, the board of directors approved the 2018 budget. The financial goals for 2018 were to be attained through grants, donors (including an active giving board) and fundraising events. By the end of 2018, ranchin' vets met 83% of its goal. Our strategic plan called for outreach to veterans on a national level in 2018. Through attaining this goal and expanding our veteran outreach, we significantly increased the veterans who will benefit from its organization in 2019 and beyond. Ranchin' vets has assured its financial solvency through strong, steady and methodical growth. Ranchin' vets philosophy is to assure the financial strength of the organization, to meet the needs of the veterans they serve. Being operationally excellent, is tandem to being financially sustainable. However, specifically within the 2018 strategic plan, being operationally excellent specifically relates to meeting the financial needs of ranchin' vets operation hire a vet program. The fiscal responsibility which guides ranchin' vets assured that the organization was indeed operationally excellent in 2018. Ranchin' vets exists to "serve those who have served us". Therefore, each year, including 2018, our strategic plan emphasizes being customer focused. A customer is the veteran we serve and one who has choices as to where to attain services and support.
