“Linear park trail, healthy policy for a healthy savannah with a focus on healthy food financing, launch of the mobility advisory committee, launch of the faith and health coalition. We publish a monthly e-newsletter that goes out to over 3500 individuals and we maintain an active facebook page with nearly 2000 followers. Healthy savannah received one of the inaugural healthy georgia awards we presented our successes at 3 local, 3 state/regional and 5 national conferences. We engaged in 32 community events where we were able to collect survey data (for the third year) on access to physical activity and nutritious food. We utilize this data to support policy, systems, and environmental change in the community. For example we carried the voice of over 2000 community residents (most from underserved communities) to the savannah forward meetings - which provided the basis for the city of savannah strategic plan. This resulted in several goals being included in the plan including, prioritizing building sidewalks near title i schools and reducing food desserts. For the business sector, healthy meeting guidelines were created and are available online as well as in pamphlet form and are being distributed. The encourage health lecture series, in association with enmarket, was held for a fourth year. Attendance at each of the four events was at max capacity. Our work continued as one of 50 invest health cities nationwide. Invest health program was designed to strengthen relationships across additional sectors. In savannah our work is with the savannah chatham metro police department, juvenile court, and the school district. This partnership resulted in a business plan to create a 'diversion pipeline' so that low risk youth picked up by the police department enter a social service center vs. A detention center. The long term impact is to break a cycle of crime and strengthen the social fabric of our community. The savannah-chatham mobility advisory committee (mac), established in 2015, remains a strong team. The mac envisions a healthy community that allows all people to navigate through the city and county safely, easily and efficiently. The mac promotes safety, health and wellness for all residents and visitors, using non-motorized and public transportation to achieve these goals. Comprised of a mixture of volunteers from private and public institutions and organizations, the mac is uniquely positioned to provide guidance in the areas of municipal policy, infrastructure design, and decision-making related to mobility and urban connectivity, in addition to developing our own project designs focusing on bicyclists, pedestrians and transit riders within our city and county. The healthy savannah faith & health coalition continues to engage the faith-based community to support faith-based organizations in savannah to implement policies and programs that promote a holistic culture of health. "by request of 16 different organizations we presented our mission and our ongoing call to action in the community. Which is to help make the healthy choice the easy choice for everyone in our community regardless of age, income level, or neighborhood - through policy systems and environmental change using a lens of health equity and inclusion.”

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | LINEAR PARK TRAIL, HEALTHY POLICY FOR A HEALTHY SAVANNAH WITH A FOCUS ON HEALTHY FOOD FINANCING, LAUNCH OF THE MOBILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE, LAUNCH OF THE FAITH AND HEALTH COALITION. WHICH IS TO HELP MAKE THE HEALTHY CHOICE THE EASY CHOICE FOR EVERYONE IN OUR COMMUNITY REGARDLESS OF AGE, INCOME LEVEL, OR NEIGHBORHOOD - THROUGH POLICY SYSTEMS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE USING A LENS OF HEALTH EQUITY AND INCLUSION. |
