The may center for learning empowers intelligent students with learning differences to be successful, confident learners who recognize the importance of communication, collaboration, and community.

The may center for learning empowers intelligent students with learning differences to be successful, confident learners who recognize the importance of communication, collaboration, and community. We accomplish this goal by focusing on 4 specific success attributes: literacy, empowerment, advocacy, and principles students with learning differences are intelligent learners capable of success in school and in their communities, provided that they are taught the skills necessary for academic and communal success. These skills include reading, writing, organization, self-management, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, trust-building, empathy, and creative vision. Students must recognize that these skills are important not only for their own personal success; they are important for the growth and prosperity of their community as well. In this way, students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning experiences, their responsibilities toward themselves, their classmates,

The may center for learning empowers intelligent students with learning differences to be successful, confident learners who recognize the importance of communication, collaboration, and community. We accomplish this goal by focusing on 4 specific success attributes: literacy, empowerment, advocacy, and principles students with learning differences are intelligent learners capable of success in school and in their communities, provided that they are taught the skills necessary for academic and communal success. The may center is also committed to developing the understanding of learning differences within our community by providing information, consultation, and workshops to educators, families, and the greater community of northern new mexico.

The center is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, and has been classified by the internal revenue service as an organization that is not a private foundation. The center regularly evaluates activities as it relates to its tax exempt status. If the center's activities are determined to be outside of its tax exempt status the potential exists for tax liabilities on those unrelated activities. The center's open audit periods are for the years ended august 31, 2018 and thereafter.
