Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 3

The organization has delegated the day to day operations of the three rental units to management companies. These management companies are responsible for executing the budgets and financial operations of the apartment units, which also includes supervising exempt activities. Effective july 1, 2019 ahdi started self-managing its ownership properties trails west townhomes, west view apartments and courtyard apartments.

On april 4, 2019, ahdi amended their articles to changed its fiscal year to run from january 1st through december 31st.

Upon receipt of the 990, the executive director reviews for accuracy, questions and comments. The 990 is then forwarded to all members of the board of directors for their review and comments prior to final approval for filing.

All staff and board members must disclose any conflicts of interest, upon disclosure, board members are required to abstain from voting or discussion of the conflicted agenda item. Income taxes the organization is a not-for-profit organization and has been recognized as tax-exempt pursuant to section 501(c)(3) of the u.s. Internal revenue code. Therefore, the organization is not subject to income tax. The organization's policy is to evaluate the likelihood that uncertain tax positions will prevail upon examination based on the extent to which those positions have substantial support within the internal revenue code and regulations, revenue rulings, court decisions, and other evidence. Accounting for uncertainty in income taxes it is the opinion of management that the organization has no significant uncertain tax positions that would be subject to change upon examination. The federal income tax returns of the organization are subject to examination by the irs, generally for three years after they were filed.
