“A 3 on 3 basketball tournament is held annually at licking high school which brings in hundreds of people to downtown licking. The proceeds are used for the various improvements to downtown licking and includes continued maintenance of the flag displays on the downtown light posts. These memorial flags are purchased through donations and the organization ensures that the flags are displayed at various appropriate times during the year in the downtown area. A park memorial continues to be maintained and memorial bricks honor area residents who were killed in action while serving in the military, as well as law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. IN CONJUNCTION WITH IMPROVING THE DOWNTOWN FOCUS ALONG WITH FOSTERING PATRIOTISM, THE ORGANIZATION HAS A PROGRAM TO DISPLAY FLAGS ON THE LIGHT POSTS THAT LINE THE DOWNTOWN AREA ON SPECIAL DAYS OF THE YEAR. A VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK PROJECT WAS COMPLETED IN 2015 AND MEMORIAL BRICKS CONTINUE TO BE PUT INTO PLACE IN THE PARK TO HONOR INDIVIDUALS. THE PROJECT IS A PERMANENT MEMORIAL FOR INDIVIDUALS ASSOCIATED WITH THE COMMUNITY WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN SERVICE FOR THEIR COMMUNITIES AND THEIR COUNTRY. |

A PARK MEMORIAL CONTINUES TO BE MAINTAINED AND MEMORIAL BRICKS HONOR AREA RESIDENTS WHO WERE KILLED IN ACTION WHILE SERVING IN THE MILITARY, AS WELL AS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY. SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CITY WERE ALSO UNDERTAKEN IN 2016 TO MAKE THE ACCESS SAFE AND AVAILABLE TO ALL. |
