A 3 ON 3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT IS HELD ANNUALLY AT LICKING HIGH SCHOOL WHICH BRINGS IN HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE TO DOWNTOWN LICKING. THE PROCEEDS ARE USED FOR THE VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS TO DOWNTOWN LICKING AND INCLUDES CONTINUED MAINTENANCE OF THE FLAG DISPLAYS ON THE DOWNTOWN LIGHT POSTS. THESE MEMORIAL FLAGS ARE PURCHASED THROUGH DONATIONS AND THE ORGANIZATION ENSURES THAT THE FLAGS ARE DISPLAYED AT VARIOUS APPROPRIATE TIMES DURING THE YEAR IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA. A PARK MEMORIAL CONTINUES TO BE MAINTAINED AND MEMORIAL BRICKS HONOR AREA RESIDENTS WHO WERE KILLED IN ACTION WHILE SERVING IN THE MILITARY, AS WELL AS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY. In conjunction with improving the downtown focus along with fostering patriotism, the organization has a program to display flags on the light posts that line the downtown area on special days of the year. A veterans memorial park project was completed in 2015 and memorial bricks continue to be put into place in the park to honor individuals. The project is a permanent memorial for individuals associated with the community who gave their lives in service for their communities and their country.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

A 3 on 3 basketball tournament is held annually at licking high school which brings in hundreds of people to downtown licking. The proceeds are used for the various improvements to downtown licking and includes continued maintenance of the flag displays on the downtown light posts. These memorial flags are purchased through donations and the organization ensures that the flags are displayed at various appropriate times during the year in the downtown area. A park memorial continues to be maintained and memorial bricks honor area residents who were killed in action while serving in the military, as well as law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Sidewalk improvements in the city were also undertaken in 2016 to make the access safe and available to all.

Licking downtown continues to maintain the historic mill facility in an effort to revitalize downtown licking with various activities which include a fall festival with music and demonstrations. The mill building was transferred to this organization in 2009. The mill anchors downtown and is the largest tourist atraction in downtown licking. The organization continues to organize activities at the mill to celebrate the history of the area and bring the community together.

Licking downtown, inc. Puts together a calendar from pictures gathered from individuals of scenes from past years in the town. These calendars are available for sale and foster interest in the town. T shirt sales are also part of the fund raising for the organization. The organization also sponsored a poker run to raise money for its projects.

SUCH IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDED BUT WERE NOT LIMITED TO SIDEWALKS, LIGHTING, AND PROPER WATER DRAINAGE. THEREBY, PUBLIC SAFETY AND FACILITY ACCESSIBILITY BY DISABLED PERSONS WERE BE ENHANCED THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS. IN 2009, A LOCAL ORGANIZATION, LICKING BETTERMENT ASSOCIATION, DISSOLVED AND TRANSFERRED ALL OF ITS ASSETS ACCORDING TO MISSOURI LAW TO LICKING DOWNTOWN, INC. THE ASSETS TRANSFERRED INCLUDED CASH IN THE CHECKING ACCOUNT AND A HISTORICAL BUILDING, THE LICKING MILL. THE MILL IS A FOCAL POINT IN THE COMMUNITY AND THE CURRENT YEAR ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE CONTINUED RENOVATION, CHRISTMAS LIGHTING, HISTORICAL AND MUSICAL PROGRAMS. IN CONJUNCTION WITH IMPROVING THE DOWNTOWN FOCUS ALONG WITH FOSTERING PATRIOTISM, THE ORGANIZATION HAS A PROGRAM TO DISPLAY FLAGS ON THE LIGHT POSTS THAT LINE THE DOWNTOWN AREA ON SPECIAL DAYS OF THE YEAR. A VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK PROJECT WAS COMPLETED IN 2015 AND MEMORIAL BRICKS CONTINUE TO BE PUT INTO PLACE IN THE PARK TO HONOR INDIVIDUALS. THE PROJECT IS A PERMANENT MEMORIAL FOR INDIVIDUALS ASSOCIATED WITH THE COMMUNITY WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN SERVICE FOR THEIR COMMUNITIES AND THEIR COUNTRY.

THE PROCEEDS ARE USED FOR THE VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS TO DOWNTOWN LICKING AND INCLUDES CONTINUED MAINTENANCE OF THE FLAG DISPLAYS ON THE DOWNTOWN LIGHT POSTS. THESE MEMORIAL FLAGS ARE PURCHASED THROUGH DONATIONS AND THE ORGANIZATION ENSURES THAT THE FLAGS ARE DISPLAYED AT VARIOUS APPROPRIATE TIMES DURING THE YEAR IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA. A PARK MEMORIAL CONTINUES TO BE MAINTAINED AND MEMORIAL BRICKS HONOR AREA RESIDENTS WHO WERE KILLED IN ACTION WHILE SERVING IN THE MILITARY, AS WELL AS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY. SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CITY WERE ALSO UNDERTAKEN IN 2016 TO MAKE THE ACCESS SAFE AND AVAILABLE TO ALL.

THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO ORGANIZE ACTIVITIES AT THE MILL TO CELEBRATE THE HISTORY OF THE AREA AND BRING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER.
