“Exhibition & collections: the figge's 2018-2019 exhibition highlights included "french moderns: monet to matisse, 1850-1950. A collection of 60 priceless masterworks by some of the world's most treasured artists- monet, cezanne, renoir, degas, and others- to tell the story of the rise of impressionis and modern art. It featured work by all the leading impressionists and their collegues who aligned themselves with the movement. In addition to paintings, iconic sculptural works were also featured. "french moderns" offered figge visitors a walk through one of the most exciting centuries in the history of art. "william l. Hawkins: an imaginative geography" was a major retrospective of the artist's work and the first nationally touring show organized by the figge art museum. Drawn from important public and private collections across the united states and europe, the exhibition included 54 of hawkin's most important paintings, some well-known and others rarely seen. "louis comfort tiffany: treasures from the driehaus collection" was an exhibition drawn from the collection of the richard h. Driehaus museum in chicago and featured 62 exemplary works created by tiffany's studios. From small blown glass vases to breathtaking stained glass windows and a spectacular selection of lamps, the exhibition demonstrated the craftsmanship and inventiveness of tiffany artisans.”
