“Working with the consolation center of haiti, an orphanage which houses 85 girls. They are providing food and education, as well as, implemented regular bible study and church services for 400 students, pre-k through 9th grade. Also involved with village of hope, in collaboration with goserv global, housing approximately 240 individuals in 60 homes. During 2017, new families were placed for temporary housing. Laborers with christ also assists with three additional projects in haiti. James 1:27 is a widow and infant center that houses 6 widows and 21 babies. Joshua project houses 65 boys within 12 homes. Finally, center of help orphanage houses 37 girls and boys. 2017 was a year of continuation of using donated funds to help regarding the hurricane relief effort. Agriculturual structure and projects were rebuilt after the destruction of hurricane matthew. Some examples of this would be the chicken, rabbit, and fish projects. The center of help was totally rebuilt with new facilities, solar electrical, and running water capabilities added to increase the standard of living for the orphans and staff who live at that location.”
“Bethany served as an intern under laborers with christ, and worked exclusively at the james 1:27 center. Her involvement included helping with daily care of the babies (14 in number) who reside there, and had regular involvement with the staff, and hosted a weekly bible study for the staff members who work there. She was a great addition to the project, and was able to make an impact with her servant's heart, and show a love and caring attitude.”
“Continuing support for their faagric program (faith agriculture) in nigeria, west africa. They have educated more than 800 participants in self-sustaining agriculture, and about eating a nutritional diet. The project has provided the ability to make the locally grown vegetables available in local markets, which has sparked interest of others in the communities to purchase them. This has stimulated individuals to want to consume the vegetables and receive the additional health benefits. During 2017, we have been informed of increased awareness and appreciation for agriculture and nutrition. We get regular updates from students and teachers involved in faagric, who have benefited greatly from the material offered freely to all.”
