We work with experienced energy auditors from the neighborhood energy connection, who provide a free whole home energy inspection that includes a blower door test, attic and wall insulation inspection and health and safety analysis. We target homes that are most in need of energy improvements and prioritize those improvements that will most significantly lower a home's energy bills. Depending on each household's needs, we may: -replace the furnace/boiler -replace an old refrigerator or freezer with new energy-efficient model -insulate the house to keep cold drafts out and keep heat in -replace water heaters -replace an old window air conditioner with a new energy-efficient model -install new compact florescent bulbs in lighting fixtures -show you other ways to save on home energy costs during 2015, ecc assisted 527 customers.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4B

-replace the furnace/boiler -replace the water heater -insulate attics and walls -address related health/safety concerns or repairs during 2015, ecc assisted 200 tenants.

Here's how the power on & gas affordability program works: -based on your household income, you will be required to pay a set amount each month for your electricity and/or natural gas service. -each time you make your payment by your due date, xcel energy will apply your power on/gap discount to your bill. During 2015, ecc assisted 18,500 customers.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4D

Centerpoint energy gas affordability program. Customers receiving energy assistance through the federal low income home energy assistance program (liheap) may be eligible to receive additional funds through the gas affordability program (gap), offered by centerpoint energy in partnership with the energy cents coalition. Gap helps customers better manage monthly energy costs. Here's how gap works: -gap helps customers better manage monthly energy costs. Once enrolled in gap, customers are given a flat monthly amount for their natural gas bill. -there is a cap on how much customers have to pay each month. Monthly natural gas payment will not exceed 6 percent of income. Gap can help customers pay past due balances. -gap can help customers pay past due balances. Customers who have a past due balance, but make monthly gap payments, will receive funds to help pay off past-due balance and be protected from natural gas service shut-off. During 2015, ecc assisted 13,000 customers. Regulatory and legislative advocacy. Energy cents members recognize the need to confront utility practices, promote regulatory policies and encourage legislative bodies in order to create solutions to the problems that energy costs and utility policies place on low income citizens and communities. The coalition will identify actions, policies and funding that promotes the following: guaranteeing universal and affordable utility service to low income households, investing in low income conservation and demand side management programs and protecting low income customers in restructuring of the utility industries.
