“Funds held at the minneapolis foundation consist of the alene grossman memorial endowment fund (the agmef). The assets are stated at fair value, which was determined based on quoted market prices. The agmef was transferred from vail place to the minneapolis foundation during 1997 to enhance investment return opportunity. Under the agreement with the minneapolis foundation, the agmef will remain at the minneapolis foundation as an endowment fund. At its discretion, the minneapolis foundation may terminate the agreement and the balance of agmef will be returned to vail place. The terms of the endowment agreement that accompanied the original agmef gift are still in effect. Vail place is required to maintain the principal balance, adjusted annually for inflation, in the endowment fund in perpetuity, through additional contributions and accumulated earnings.”
