Activity 2

In 2012, rose hill's extended residential program can accomodate up to 23 patients at any given time in three different homes. Staff provide round-the-clock supervision and medication monitoring in a safe and supportive setting. Patients participate in structured daily activities that are selected by the group. This program is licensed by the state of michigan. Significant achievements: 1) continued to be a significant program for individuals who need the support of a structured environment including some who are able to work, volunteer or go to school off-campus independently; 2) provided additional opportunities for residents to engage in meaningful and more structured activities on the campus; 3) provided transportation to allow residents to work as volunteers at various local non-profit organizations and to participate in various recreational activities in the local community.

Activity 3

The transitional living program (tlp) is designed specifically for individuals who have achieved a basic level of independence, but need support and guidance before moving back into the community. Sharing one of six two-bedroom townhouses located on our campus, transitional living participants practice their daily living skills and experience independence in a familiar, secure environment that helps bridge the gap between rose hill's residential program and off-campus life. Significant achievements: 1) placed all participants in paid employment, volunteer positions, or college classes; 2) assisted 6 tlp residents in successfully making a move back into the community; 3) identified the need to admit patients directly from the community to tlp; determined admission criteria and developed the program; 4) made one townhouse unit available for use by visiting families, as needed; 5) utilized the townhouses for crisis intervention for the community support program participants.
