Mission

Grace christian university seeks to develop passionate servants of jesus christ by personally educating students in an educational program that emphasizes the integration of biblical truth, ministry experience, and character transformation. This emphasis pervades the entire campus as the university strives to cultivate a caring learning community where jesus christ is exalted and students are equipped for serving the needs of church and society.

Graduating godly individuals prepared to serve christ in church and society. The university seeks to integrate arts and sciences and biblical/theological studies; and stresses faith and learning, in accord with the values and doctrines of its founding leadership and the bible college movement. In recognizing its purpose as christian higher education for life and service in church and society, gcu strives for educational outcomes embodying the principle that both ministerial and societal vocations involve the gifts and calling of god. Gcu is committed to the personal, social, spiritual and intellectual growth of all its students. The university will accomplish its mission through emphasizing and supporting excellence in teaching and related responsibilities, as well as in the ancillary activities of the entire institution.

Primarily, the earnings generated by endowed funds are intended to provide scholarships for the students of grace christian university.

PART X, LINE 2:

The internal revenue service has determined the university to be exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. In addition, the university qualifies for the charitable contribution deduction under section 170(b)(1)(a) and has been classified as an organization that is not a private foundation under section 509(a)(2). Therefore, no provision for income taxes is made in the accompanying financial statements. Tax positions taken are assessed for uncertainty and a provision may be recorded if a tax position is not likely to be sustained upon examination.
