Activity 2

Caf offers exhibitions and public programs on the subject of architecture and the built environment. In 2010, approximately 153,000 people saw our exhibitions and a total of 7,786 people attended public programs on subjects such as sustainability, preservation, planning and design. There were 89 programs offered in 2010 and of the 89 programs,43 were free (48%) and 46 fee-based (52%). Caf also hosted the second annual aao/a+den national conference,which served 157 delegates.

Activity 3

The youth education department provides programming and tours on the subject of architecture and the built environment, covering curriculum subjects of science, math and art, for k-12 students and teachers. We conducted 207 events directly serving 11,062 students and teachers, and indirectly serving an additional 14,835, for a total reach of 25,687 in 2010. Attendance is broken down as follows: 111 field trips for 4,038 k-8 students from public, private, and parochial schools from chicago and the collar counties; 171 teachers attended six professional development workshops, and an additional 77 teachers attended pre-service and in-service workshops, for a total of 248 teachers participating in hands-on, built environment workshops.
