Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Income taxes: the institute is exempt from the payment of income taxes on its exempt activities under section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code. The institute adopted the provisions of accounting for uncertainty in income tax positions as required by the income taxes topic of the financial accounting standards board (fasb) accounting standards codification; however, management does not believe it is exposed to any such positions as defined in this guidance, nor do they expect this to change significantly over the next 12 months. The institute files form 990, return of organization exempt from income tax, annually with the united states department of the treasury, and, if deemed to have unrelated business income, files form 990-t, exempt organization business income tax return, with the united states department of the treasury.
