Mission
The organization's mission is to facilitate military veteran employment in the corporate workforce. Hire america's heroes seeks to promote best practices and success strategies by which america's military family members are welcomed into the corporate workforce. Veterans of all eras, transitioning service members, spouses, wounded warrior care givers, members of blue star families and gold star families are all welcomed. We work to influence the ecosystem for increased employment of military service members as a category. Our services are directed toward educating and informing stakeholders in order to raise their understanding of relevant issues, connecting the players who can influence the issues, and promoting action that will result in family wage jobs for members of the military family. - Activity 2
- 2012 wa symposium:hire america's heroes' symposia are immersion events held on local military bases to allow corporate leadership an opportunity to engage with military men and women still in service to the nation. Through these 2 events, sponsors and supporters have an opportunity to experience life inside these "gated communities", gaining a greater understanding of military personnel and the value they bring as employees in the corporate workforce.the 2012 symposium was held at naval station everett and featured a video welcome from first lady michelle obama, three on-site speakers, two panel presentations, a reverse career fair and tours of u.s. Navy ships and u.s. Coast guard vessels. The 164 guests in attendance included 90 personnel from 9 different industry sectors (61 corporate sponsors and 29 prospective sponsors), 36 military service members, 28 representatives of support organizations, 7 representatives of political offices, and 3 hah volunteers.
