However, the University is subject to federal income tax on any unrelated business taxable income. The University is subject to guidance with respect to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. A tax position is recognized as a benefit only if it is "more likely than not" that the tax position would be sustained in a tax examination, with a tax examination being presumed to occur. The University did not have any amounts accrued for interest and penalties at June 30, 2019 and 2018. At June 30, 2019 and June 30, 2018, the University has not recorded any expected tax benefits.”
