“Manufacturing Works is a membership organization, with approximately 330 members. Annual Membership ranges from $195-$2000 depending on the size of the organization.”

“As a membership organization, members nominate and vote on the board of directors for the organization.”

“The form 990 is prepared by the organization's VP of Finance. The organization's volunteer Finance and Governance committees review it with the organization's VP of Finance and the President. Once the organization's volunteer Finance and Governance have reviewed the 990, it is then distributed to the full Board of Directors for review.”

“Annually, all employees, board members and board committee members complete and sign a Conflict of Interest form. The Administrative Director collects the forms and if a potential conflict is noted, that potential conflict is shared with appropriate decision makers of the organization. Until the form is complete, signed and received by the Administrative Director, reminders are sent to the employees, board members and board committee members that the form must be completed.”

“Compensation for the President-Executive Director, management and key employees is determined by annual reviews of work performance by the employees' supervisor. In the case of the President-Executive-Director, the organization's current volunteer Board Chairman in conjunction with the prior Board Chairman perform an annual work performance review. Periodically, the organization undertakes a compensation review of comparable and similar size non-profit organizations to ensure the salaries of the employees are within an appropriate range. Salary increases are not automatic. Factors such as performance of job responsibilities, competence, attendance, punctuality, ability to meet deadlines and ability to interact well with co-workers are considered in granting salary increases.”
