“The executive director chooses the independent auditor in accordance with the associations purchasing procedure. The executive director can authorize operating expenses of 5,000 or less and contractual agreements of 5,000 or less with terms of one year or less. The executive committee of the board of directors (4 officers) meets to review the draft financial audit as presented by the independent auditor. The audited financial statements are then presented to the entire board of directors at a regularly scheduled meeting for approval. The executive director reviews the form 990 after preparation by the cpa consultant based on the information from the annual audit. Upon completion of review the executive director presents the form 990 to the board of directors.”
