Mission

Grad cincinnati raises expectation and achievement for all students by building high impact partnerships within the community to provide a premiere college readiness, access and support program.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Campus family support - grad cincinnati has two resource coordinators (rc) one at western hills university and one at taft technology high school. They support the community learning center bringing in resources and partnerships to support students preventing them from dropping out of school. The rc also works with parents to garner parental support for their children and the school. Two of the main responsibilities of the rc are to plan and organize the annual walk for success in conjunction with know how to go on fountain square, where the students will sign their scholarship guarantees. Secondly they are responsible for organizing the summerbridge program for rising ninth graders to orient them to high school.
Activity 3
Scholarship - in the 9th grade, students and parents sign a scholarship agreement, which outlines the course, grade point average, summer institute and counseling requirements to qualify for a college scholarship. In the summer institutes, students take courses on college campuses to simulate the college experience. The dollars for the scholarship must be raised by grad cincinnati board and be in place prior to students graduating from high school. A scholarship coordinator is on staff to track students and assist with all college access information. 56 students were awarded scholarships during the fiscal year. Grad cincinnati is supporting more than 1,400 high school students with college access service. The average of 55% of grad cincinnati high school graduates are attending college.
