“| Description:, Expense Amount:, Grants Amount:, Revenue Amount:| University of Rhode Island FISH Right project The USAID Fish Right Program is a partnership between the Government of the Philippines and the United States Government through the U.S. Agency for International Development USAID to influence system change within the fisheries sector by improving resource user compliance with agreed upon fisheries practices resulting in increased fish biomass in the three marine key biodiversity areas MKBA. The program is implemented in three marine key biodiversity areas namely Calamianes Island group CIG Southern Negros and Visayan Sea. PFPI leads the CIG area and cross cutting themes on behavior change and gender and development. The goal of the program is 10% increase in fish biomass across three sites based on catch-per-unit-effort and observed reef fish biomass. In 2021 Fish Right Program in CIG worked in partnership with various stakeholders to reduce biodiversity threats to key select fisheries commodities. Key accomplishments were: I. A Memorandum of Understanding effecting the five-year CIG Inter LGU Fisheries Resource Management Plan IFRMP was signed by the four mayors in CIG. The Busuanga Culion Coron and Linapacan BCCL executive office was set up with PhP 400,000.00 initial funding secured from the four LGUs to support the BCCL IFRMP initiatives. Related IFRMP Manual of operations preparation was supported by the Program, $417657, $162643, $0| II. 82 new PEs were trained in leadership and have reached 7822 peers through peer education III. Three MPAs supported by the Program won the PEARL awards. The 3rd Recognition Awards for CIGs Enhanced Ecosystem RACE awards was conducted. IV. Two 2 MPA ordinances in Coron were approved V. This is a global PED initiative designed to leverage the interconnectedness of Population Environment and Development to spur strong political commitment sustained financial resources and accountability for voluntary family planning and reproductive health in low- and middle-income countries. The African Institute for Development Policy AFIDEP is the prime implementer with its Consortium partners. In its Asia-Pacific Hub PATH Foundation Philippines Inc. PFPI is tasked to contribute to the following key results: 1 to strengthen individual and institutional capacity in advocacy policy communications and negotiations Result 1; and 2 increase commitment for cross-sectoral approaches to integrate population the environment and climate change food security and livelihoods and governance Result 2.
