IN ADDITION, REGIONAL PROMOTIONS AND LOCAL EVENTS WERE MARKETED. Motley junefest - assisted this group in providing activities for the annual community celebration. Activities included a run, a parade, a lumberjack show, kids games, a car show, a demo derby, musice and fireworks.

Tourism - leap continued its agreement with the city of staples to manage tourism dollars collected via a city lodging tax. A tourism committee helped to direct a consultant who was hired to market the staples area through billboards, the explore mn travel guide, the mn lodging association, and to provide content for a discover staples (discoverstaplesmn.org) website. In addition, regional promotions and local events were marketed. Just prior to the fiscal year end, funds were transferred to the staples area chamber of commerce to continue the work under that entity.

The staples-motley athletic hall of fame was launched in april of 2019 to reflect on the rich history and tradition of the communities' athletic achievements and successes. A hall of fame annual was produced, a wall mural was produced, a ceremony was held and awards were given.

Batcher block opera house - supported a feasability study of rehabilitating a historic landmark with the purpose of creating a regional/community gathering space and entertainment venue. Friends of the library - purchase items and provide grants to support programming for the local public library. Sisters with sass - assisted the group with events. The group is a women's mentorship program focused on empowering women through work, education, and well-being. Farmer's market - provided a means for growers to promote healthy eating and locally grown produce. Food vouchers are available to individuals in need. Christmas in staples - helped support the city with its celebration. Assisted in providing for high school senior banners to be displayed on city streets at graduation. Assisted the chamber of commerce in providing holiday meals. Dispersed funds for school readiness and books in the park. Health connections provides a forum for communication and collaboration to improve the health of people in the communities of todd and wadena counties. The major focus points for the year were lactation & car seat classes. Volleyball boosters - pay tournament registration fees, equipment and supplies of the local high school volleyball team.
