Activity 2

New Technology Network ("NTN") is a national school development organization that works with districts and communities to implement innovative high schools that prepare graduates for post-secondary paths. New Technology helps school stakeholders fundamentally rethink their approach to teaching and learning, empowering students to become the creators, leaders, and producers of tomorrow. New Technology Network continued its investments in capacity building to support the growing number of schools. A new version of the NTN Learning Management System, NTN Echo was introduced to all schools in July, 2010. An unprecedented number of new schools opened in the fall of 2010, bringing the total number of schools to 62. New Technology high schools are located in California, Ohio, South Dakota, Hawaii, New Mexico, Michigan, Georgia, Colorado, Indiana, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Louisiana and Texas.

Activity 3

The Strive Partnership Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky is focused on the success of children: every child, every step, from cradle to career. The Strive Partnership unites common providers around shared issues, goals, measurements and results, and then actively supports and strengthens strategies that work. Key outcomes for the year include the number of student outcomes trending in the right direction; collaborative action in the area of early childhood education and college access has contributed to these consistent improvements; funders in the region are aligning dollars behind collaborative action; and the Partnership was the only grantee awarded from the federal Social Innovation Fund to focus on taking local actions that have high impact to scale.Strive has drawn upon lessons in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, as well as other national sites, to develop a framework for building what is called the Cradle to Career Civic Infrastructure. Using this framework, Strive is now working nationally to build a network of communities committed to this work who will achieve two core goals:(1) Expedite the development of unique partnerships in communities across the country by facilitating knowledge sharing among Network members and(2) Establish recognized Cradle to Career Communities.
