| IRS990/Description | 0 | Design Competition - A competition is a three stage process. The three stages are 1. Portfolio evaluations to select 8 to 10 potential lead designers. 2. Team interviews to select up to 4 potential design teams. 3. A design competition to select a design with the most appropriate team to execute that design. In addition to the main program, four other new programs are as follows: 1) Benefit Concert was a fundraising and awareness building opportunity for the Conservancy. Over 2,000 ticket-purchasers attended an outdoor concert at a venue near Waller Creek, where they also witnessed a presentation on the Conservancy during the concert. 2) Other Program: Children's Yoga at Viva Streets: Waller Creek Conservancy Participated in Viva Streets, an event that promotes healthier lifestyles and alternative forms of transportation. The Conservancy's Children's Yoga station raised community awareness of the project by bringing crowds closer to Waller Creek. 3) Other Program: Community Clean-ups: As stewards of Waller Creek, the Conservancy periodically participates in creek clean-ups, beautifying the creek and drawing attention to the creek transformation in its collaboration of clean-ups with local community service organization, including at UT undergraduate service group. 4) Other Programs: Arts of Palm: An evening art-installation in Palm Park, Arts of Palm drew Austin community members to a park within the Waller Creek district. The event raised awareness of the Waller Creek project. |
