| IRS990/Desc | 0 | THE FOUNDATION MADE A TOTAL OF TWENTY-TWO GRANTS IN 2020 THROUGH AN EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND THAT WAS CREATED IN APRIL 2020 IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 GLOBAL PANDEMIC. THE FUNDS WERE RAISED THROUGH ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY GALA IN LOS ANGELES, AN ONLINE ART AUCTION, WITH ART DONATED BY CO-FOUNDER JANE SEYMOUR, GENERAL DONATIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY, AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS VOTED TO MAKE AN INVESTMENT FROM A PORTION OF THE FOUNDATION'S RESERVES TO HELP THOSE IN NEED DURING THE PANDEMIC. THROUGH AN INTERNAL VETTING PROCESS THAT REQUESTED A LETTER OF INTENT AND BUDGET FROM EACH QUALIFIED CHARITY, THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTED TWENTY-TWO CHARITIES ON THE FRONT LINES OF THE PANDEMIC SERVING VULNERABLE WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN GRANT MAKING CYCLES IN APRIL, JUNE AND SEPTEMBER BASED ON CRITERIA OUTLINED ON THE WEBSITE. THESE CHARITIES SERVE POPULATIONS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES SUCH AS FOSTER CHILDREN, THE HOMELESS, CHILDREN WITH MEDICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, FORMERLY INCARCERATED WOMEN, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS, CHILDREN IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES, AND CHILDREN WITH INCARCERATED PARENTS. |

| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc | 0 | IN CELEBRATION OF ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR, THE FOUNDATION DESIGNED 10 DAYS OF VOLUNTEERISM; HOWEVER, THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC CHANGED THOSE PLANS AND THEY WERE ADJUSTED TO VIRTUAL SERVICE WITH THE GOAL TO CONNECT THE TALENTS, SKILLS, AND GIFTS OF VOLUNTEERS WITH ORGANIZED DAYS OF SERVICE THAT BENEFIT NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WHO INSPIRE AND EMPOWER THEIR COMMUNITY. IN APRIL AND IN NOVEMBER, THE FOUNDATION CHALLENGED THE WORLD THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA TO DO WHAT THEY CAN TO HELP OTHERS THROUGH THE #OPENHEARTEDCHALLENGE. HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS POSTED THEIR ACTS OF KINDNESS AND CHALLENGED THEIR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME WHETHER THEY CALLED TO CHECK IN ON FRIENDS AND FAMILY, DONATED BLOOD, BAKED BREAD FOR THEIR NEIGHBORS, OR CREATED MASKS FOR THEIR COMMUNITY, THE OPEN HEARTS PHILOSOPHY CAME TO LIFE. THROUGH THE #MAKEASENIORSMILE VIRTUAL VOLUNTEER SESSIONS, VOLUNTEERS CREATED CARDS FOR ISOLATED SENIORS DURING THE PANDEMIC AT FOUR CENTERS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES. THESE INITIATIVES QUITE LITERALLY SAVED LIVES AND ENCOURAGED OPEN-HEARTED VOLUNTEERISM IN THIS TIME OF GREAT CHALLENGE. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION INCUBATED THE DESIGN, RESEARCH, AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE YOUNG HEARTS MOBILE APP WITH THE SUPPORT OF SPECIFIC INVESTMENTS OF THIS PROCESS. THE RESULTS OF THIS WORK PROVIDED A COMPREHENSIVE BASE OF RESEARCH, ANALYSIS, AND SCOPE OF MARKET (PRE-PANDEMIC), AS WELL AS A MINIMUM VIABLE PRODUCT (MVP) IN BOTH IOS AND ANDROID PLATFORMS. IN PREPARATION FOR A PUBLIC LAUNCH, THE FOUNDATION IS CURRENTLY DESIGNING AN INFRASTRUCTURE OR BUSINESS MODEL TO SUPPORT THE APP AND POTENTIAL GROWTH. |
