Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8B

In 2013 the noh8 campaign had no committees with authority to act on behalf of the governing body.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11

The form 990 is completed by the cpa. After completion, the president and chairman review the return and then forward a copy of it to the members of the board. The board members have an opportunity to review and approve the return before it is filed.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The board of directors as a whole regularly inquires from its members regarding any conflict of interest. The board members have an ongoing duty to disclose any conflicts of interest and are asked during board meetings to disclose any conflicts of interest.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

The board of directors uses the compensation and benefits survey for southern and central california, which is published by the center for nonprofit management, to determine salaries for its officers and top management officials. The process also includes deliberation and approval by the board of directors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The organization provides a copy of the form 990 upon request.

THE PHOTOS OF INDIVIDUALS, ALONE OR IN GROUPS, WITH DUCT TAPE COVERING THE SUBJECT'S MOUTH AND THE TRADEMARKED NOH8 LOGO AFFIXED TO THE SUBJECT'S CHEEK, ARE PROCESSED AND POSTED ON THE NOH8 CAMPAIGN WEBSITE. IN 2013, NOH8 CAMPAIGN'S FIFTH YEAR, AN ADDITIONAL 5,000 (ESTIMATED) PORTRAITS WERE POSTED ON NOH8 CAMPAIGN'S WEBSITE AT WWW.NOH8CAMPAIGN.COM, BRINGING THE TOTAL TO 35,000 (ESTIMATED) PHOTOS.
