Mission and Program Overview
Mission
Ranch hands rescue is a human and animal sanctuary founded on hope and healing for the long-term recovery of trauma victims, special needs animals, and male survivors of sex trafficking. See schedule o for additional detail.bob's house of hope provides a home built on safety and community to meet the unique needs of male survivors of sex trafficking. Rhr's primary focus is providing a safe space for the recovery of the most vulnerable, traumatized victims in our community, be they human or animal. For the last 14 years, rhr has provided a sanctuary for special needs farm animals and a counseling program for survivors of complex trauma, the 1-10% of survivors who have not made progress in other programs. For the last year and a half, rhr has provided the first and only safe house in the country for young men who have been victims of sex trafficking.
Major Activities

- We have an established rescue operation that primarily works with law enforcement in texas when animals have been abused & neglected. The majority of animals we take in are active criminal cases and we are known for taking "the worse of the worse".in almost every case the animals we take in are in critical condition. We will take animal surrenders that have "special' circumstances, these cases are evaluated as we recieve the requests. In 2012 we rescued 38 horses & donkeys.

- We have an established equine & animal assisted therapy program that incorporates our animals into equine& animal assisted therapy (eaat) is a form of counseling that focuses on the process of working with horses & other farm animals to impact clients' behaviors. "eaat" is facilitated by a licensed mental health professional. Our clients work with rescued(abused, abandoned, or neglected)horses and other farm animals,a methodology that helps rehabilitate the horse as well as the client. People with special needs include but are not limited to:substance abuse, rape, physical abuse and domestic violence. In 2012 we saw 178 clients.
