| IRS990/Desc | 0 | In June 2017, a new operational model for Parallel 45 Theatre was proposed to its board of directors and it was officially adopted. Beginning in 2019, we will produce a summer-focused season, in rotating repertory, with additional programming in the shoulder seasons. This model allows us to realize a healthy earned revenue ratio, enjoy appropriate staffing, offer more paying work to more artists, achieve a larger economic impact on our region, and provide more high-quality, professional theatre to more residents and visitors in our community. To reach this goal, Parallel 45 launched season 8 during this period?a series of performance events with fundraising and audience development goals to make the new operational model possible: December 2017 holiday fundraiser (95 attendees) w/performance of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [revised] remounted*; March 2018 production of Go, Dog. Go! (784 attendees in one day) w/an in-home donor cultivation event; July 2018 summer in-home event tour + workshops/presentations (493 attendees).Parallel 45 welcomed 6 new members (for a total of 10) to its board of directors during this time period and, in October 2017, our Producing Artistic Director transitioned from an independent contractor to become our second full-time employee. |
