Leadership southeast texas is an educational program designed to identify leaders of southeast texas, and to motivate them to exercise their position as regional and communtiy leaders. To accomplish that purpose, the organization has the following objectives. 1. To promote better understanding of southeast texas community, including opportunities and strengths created by acting as a region regarding issues of mutual interest and concern; 2. To identify and to study regional issues significant to the development of southeast texas as a communtiy, such as economic development, crime prevention, education, the environment and other issues that affect southeast texas; 3. To act as a forum the the discussion of issues on a regional basis and to promote and encourage the initiation of innovative regional approaches to those issues; 4. To provide an opportunity for leaders in the various counties and communities on the nine-county region to meet and work in an organized format, adn to create

THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROGRAM SERVICE AND LEADERSHIP SOUTHEAST TEXAS IS TO ALLOW REGIONAL AND COMMUNITY LEADERS TO RECEIVE INFORMATION ABOUT CURRENT AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS IN THE REGION. LEADERSHIP SOUTHEAST TEXAS DESIRES FOR THESE LEADERS TO TAKE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND INFLUENCE TO PROMOTE AND DEVELOPE THE SOUTHEAST TEXAS REGION. THESE INDIVIDUALS ATTENDED EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS ON 1.) LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND TRAITS; 2.) GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE ON SETX INDUSTRY; 3.) ENTREPRENEURSHIP; 4.) DEVELOPING VIABLE WORK FORCE; 5.) LEADERSHIP SERVICE PROJECTS. EACH SESSION HAD A, STATEWIDE, REGIONAL, AND LOCAL, EXPERT IN THE RESPECTIVE TOPICS GIVE PRESENTATIONS ON THE CURRENT SITUATIONS AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS AND TRENDS ON EACH ISSUE. EACH IDENTIFIED LEADER PARTICIPATED IN THE DISCUSSION BY QUESTION AND ANSWER DIALOGUE AS WELL AS PROBLEM SOLVING EXERCISES. “For the fye 7/31/14, leadership southeast texas identified 76 individuals as community and regional leaders. The objective of this program service and leadership southeast texas is to allow regional and community leaders to receive information about current and future developments in the region. Leadership southeast texas desires for these leaders to take their knowledge and influence to promote and develope the southeast texas region. These individuals attended educational sessions on 1.) leadership skills and traits; 2.) global perspective on setx industry; 3.) entrepreneurship; 4.) developing viable work force; 5.) leadership service projects. Each session had a, statewide, regional, and local, expert in the respective topics give presentations on the current situations and future developments and trends on each issue. Each identified leader participated in the discussion by question and answer dialogue as well as problem solving exercises. This program also allows these leaders to create networking relationships that will allow them to work together for the development and promotion of southeast texas.”

TO IDENTIFY AND TO STUDY REGIONAL ISSUES SIGNIFICANT TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS AS A COMMUNTIY, SUCH AS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, CRIME PREVENTION, EDUCATION, THE ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER ISSUES THAT AFFECT SOUTHEAST TEXAS; 3. TO ACT AS A FORUM THE THE DISCUSSION OF ISSUES ON A REGIONAL BASIS AND TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE THE INITIATION OF INNOVATIVE REGIONAL APPROACHES TO THOSE ISSUES; 4. TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR LEADERS IN THE VARIOUS COUNTIES AND COMMUNITIES ON THE NINE-COUNTY REGION TO MEET AND WORK IN AN ORGANIZED FORMAT, ADN TO CREATE A PROGRAM FOR FUTURE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT; AND 5. TO ENHANCE THE LEADERSHIP SKILLS OF PARTICIPANTS THROUGH ADVANCED TRAINING PROGRAMS AND SPEAKERS. THESE ACTIVITIES ARE CONDUCTED BY VOLUNTEERS OF THE ORGANIZATION AND AN EXCUTIVE DIRECTOR. |

LEADERSHIP SOUTHEAST TEXAS DESIRES FOR THESE LEADERS TO TAKE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND INFLUENCE TO PROMOTE AND DEVELOPE THE SOUTHEAST TEXAS REGION. THESE INDIVIDUALS ATTENDED EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS ON 1.) LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND TRAITS; 2.) GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE ON SETX INDUSTRY; 3.) ENTREPRENEURSHIP; 4.) DEVELOPING VIABLE WORK FORCE; 5.) LEADERSHIP SERVICE PROJECTS. EACH SESSION HAD A, STATEWIDE, REGIONAL, AND LOCAL, EXPERT IN THE RESPECTIVE TOPICS GIVE PRESENTATIONS ON THE CURRENT SITUATIONS AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS AND TRENDS ON EACH ISSUE. EACH IDENTIFIED LEADER PARTICIPATED IN THE DISCUSSION BY QUESTION AND ANSWER DIALOGUE AS WELL AS PROBLEM SOLVING EXERCISES. THIS PROGRAM ALSO ALLOWS THESE LEADERS TO CREATE NETWORKING RELATIONSHIPS THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO WORK TOGETHER FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTION OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS. |
