Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Form 990 Part IX 24E / Schedule G Part II

The organization is amending the tax return because of the updated information received regarding the financial results of its golf outing reported on Schedule G Part II of the tax return. The net income summary increased from $1,304 to $20,043. Net assets at the end of the year remained unchanged at ($433,009), since Form 990 Part IX was adjusted to include $16,799 in development costs and Form 990 Part VIII contributions decreased $1,940. Schedule A was also updated for the change in contributions reported. The change in contributions reported did not result in additional disclosures related to Schedule A Excess Contributions, or Schedule B Contributors.

Financial Statement Notes

Part V, Line 4:

The board has interpreted the donor's will to intend that all investment income, including realized and unrealized gains, be used for the mandated continuous education needs of the older foster children in the care of bethanna.

Part X, Line 2:

The Organization is a not-for-profit corporation and is recognized as exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, as amended, and from state income taxes under the Not-for-Profit Corporation Laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been provided. The Organization follows the accounting guidance for uncertainty in income taxes using the Financial Accounting Standards Board ("FASB") Accounting Standards Codification ("ASC") Topic 740 "Income Taxes." Using that guidance, the Organization accounts for the effects of any uncertain tax positions on a "more likely than not" threshold applied to the recognition of tax positions being sustained based on the technical merits of the position under scrutiny by the applicable taxing authority. If a tax position or positions are deemed to result in uncertainties of those positions, the unrecognized tax benefit is estimated based on a "cumulative probability assessment" that aggregates the estimated tax liability for all uncertain tax positions. Interest and penalties assessed, if any, are accrued as income tax expense. The Organization has identified its tax status as a tax-exempt entity as a tax position; however, the Organization has determined that such tax position does not result in an uncertainty requiring recognition. The Organization believes it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years prior to June 30, 2014.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0CTSS Clinical Transition and Stabilization Services Services are designed to support children/youth who are stepping down from a higher level of care into a community based setting such as moving from a Residential Treatment Facility back to their home or into a foster home. CTSS also provides stabilizations services to children/youth that are at risk for stepping up into a higher level of care, or at risk for disruption in their living environment. We increase the likelihood of a stable placement, with a decreased need for readmission to acute levels of service, by offering prospective caregivers specialized support upon their child/youth's discharge from inpatient or residential programs. The CTSS program is a 90 day service that provides behavioral health assessment and clinical services until the individual and family served with the goal of stabilizing the presenting concerns and connecting them to community based service providers who will continue their behavioral health care as appropriate.
