“Board member/secretary frank weckenman is the father of board member/treasurer michael weckenman.”
“Irs form 990 and annual audit report are reviewed by the entire board before approval is given to release them.”
“The organization requires all officers and directors to disclose conflicts of interest as they arise as part of their ethics code of conduct. The dislosures are reviewed regularly at a scheduled board meeting and any actions deemed necessary are taken.”
“The human resources committee regularly monitors other comparable data on compensation. They also set compensation for the executive director. The executive director sets compensation for all others.”
“The organization makes their governing documents, conflict of interst policy, financial statments and form 990 available to the public upon request.”
“The organization's board of director's assumes responsibility for the oversight of the audit of its financial statements and selection of an independent auditor. New auditors were selected for this current period.”
“The board has interpreted the donor's will to intend that all investment income, including realized and unrealized gains, be used for the mandated continuous education needs of the older foster children in the care of bethanna.”
“The organization is a not-for-profit corporation and is recognized as exempt from federal and state income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and the commonwealth act of may 5, 1933, known as the nonprofit organization law and, accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been provided. The organization follows the accounting guidance for uncertainty in income taxes using the financial accounting standards board ("fasb") accounting standards codification ("asc") topic 740 "income taxes." using that guidance, the organization accounts for the effects of any uncertain tax positions on a "more likely than not" threshold applied to the recognition of tax positions being sustained based on the technical merits of the position under scrutiny by the applicable taxing authority. If a tax position or positions are deemed to result in uncertainties of those positions, the unrecognized tax benefit is estimated based on a "cumulative probability assessment" that aggregates the estimated tax liability for all uncertain tax positions. Interest and penalties assessed, if any, are accrued as income tax expense. The organization has identified its tax status as a tax-exempt entity as a tax position; however, the organization has determined that such tax position does not result in an uncertainty requiring recognition. The organization believes it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years prior to june 30, 2013.”
