Activity 2

In 2010, the foundation was awarded a non-competitive, congressionally-directed grant in the amount of 250,000 for the curriculum and course development of a homeland security master's degree porgram in support of the u.s. Army command and general staff college. The foundation contracted with kansas state university to develop the program. The overall goals of the program include fielding a five-course certficate program that will become available to students and an accredited master's degree in homeland security, offered at fort leavenworth.

Activity 3

The foundation's distinguished leadership award is a national level award established to provide a prestigious and visible means of recognizing and honoring citizens, military and civilian, who distinguish themselves through outstanding achievement to the united states army, the command and general staff college, their community or their country. It also provides an opportunity to reconnect with alumni and help tell the story of the college. Former recipients include: general colin l. Powell (2008), general gordon r. Sullivan (2009), mr. H. Ross perot, sr. (2010), and general h. Hugh shelton (2011).
