“Part III - Line 28 - Accomplishments Programs: Vision Institute/SC Pastors Disrupting Poverty CFW Vision Institute is a specially designed statewide 10-month leadership development and capacity building incubator for minority faith-based organizations. Faith leaders and their teams receive training on topics such as community asset mapping, the community action process, survey data gathering and analysis, developing summary narratives, program development, logic model design, budget development and the 501c3/CDC process. Equally important, pastors, faith leaders and ministries, are taught and demonstrated the unlimited strength of collaboration within our CFW culture and landscape as well as how to spiritually map and pray for neighborhoods beyond data and science. The rigorous, but faith-based design of the Institute provides essential foundational pieces for projects that are responsive, impactful and sustainable for the community. To date, the CFW Vision Institute has graduated 21 churches that have founded nonprofits with 501c3 designation, and community development corporations across South Carolina. Some of these organizations have initiated programs to address hunger and food insecurities in their communities; computer skills for youth, adults and seniors, to address the digital divide, as well as job training workshops, and financial literacy classes. EMERGE Academy (CFW-EMERGE) Developing Tomorrow's Kingdom Leaders Today! EMERGE Academy provides an opportunity for rising 11th and 12th grade students of color to participate and learn from knowledge experts in areas such as school, career and leadership development, college entrance/college exposure, technology, and soft skills knowledge. Upon completion, students receive an earned leadership certification that can be used for resumes, summer employment, college admission and scholarships. Over the last 5 years nearly 300 young student leaders statewide have participated and earned this prestigious high level leadership designation through the CFW-EMERGE Academy and Truist Leadership Institute as well as other community partners. Care Response Team (CFW-CRT) Pray Mobilize. Activate. Respond. The Care Response Team is an initiative of Community FaithWorks that encompasses over 61 unique faith based, community based, governmental agencies and media working collaboratively to provide emergent and essential services to our communities in need. CFW-CRT is a central coordinating entity designed for the distribution of essential resources assuring that our most vulnerable communities receive access to the services they need. Through its network of partners, Care Response Team has provided food assistance to 8,399 families, housing assistance to 825 families, 60,000 masks and hand sanitizers and utility/energy assistance payments to 720 families.”
