First, the president, treasurer and financial controller conducted an in-depth review of an electronic version of the draft form 990 as prepared by the accountants. A second draft form 990 is then reviewed by legal counsel. After incorporating additional changes, a final version of the form 990 is sent to all members of the board of trustees for review prior to filing the tax return with the irs.

Third way has adopted the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes, as required by topic 740 of the fasb asc. Third way has analyzed its tax positions, and has concluded that no liability for unrecognized tax benefits should be recorded related to any uncertain tax positions taken on returns filed for open tax years (2010- 2012), or expected to be taken in its 2013 tax return. Third way is not aware of any tax positions for which it believes that there is a reasonable possibility that the total amounts of unrecognized tax benefits will change materially in the next twelve months.
