| TIGER FLIGHT GROUND CREW: 25 AFJROTC cadets from Sequoyah High School in Woodstock, GA compose the TF Ground Crew. They report to the TF Hangar each month on the Second Saturday. They build the morning briefing to prepare pilots and guests for the day's flying. Their briefing addresses: weather, aircraft maintenance status, schedule, and an aircraft "System of the Day" lesson. The briefing ends with a safety briefing. Working under the supervision of a TF Pilot, the TF Ground Crew manages the flight line. They escort guests walking between the hangar and the aircraft and marshal aircraft in and out of parking. The TF Ground Crew tow aircraft out of the hangar in the morning and help pilots with their preflight. When flying is over, the TF Ground Crew tow the aircraft back in the hangar and clean the aircraft. TF Ground Crew have the opportunity to fly with TF pilots and by interacting directly with pilots, learn about the aircraft. Some TF Ground Crew are enrolled in a Private Pilot Ground School. When Tiger Flight hosts Boy Scouts for the Aviation Merit Badge, TF Ground Crew help with academic instruction, instruct Scouts on the preflight, and help with "flying" desk top simulators. The Tiger Flight Ground Crew is an integral and critical component of Tiger Flight. | $0 | $13,673 |
| BOY SCOUT AVIATION MERIT BADGE CLINIC AND FREE FLIGHT: In 2019 TFF hosted four Aviation Merit Badge Clinics. 64 Scouts and 28 adults participated in the four clinics. Scouts' families donated $60 for each Scout to attend the Aviation MB Clinic. The Scouts learned about the physics of flight, aircraft systems, navigation, how to preflight an aircraft, and how an airport operates. Scouts do not need to go for a flight to earn the Aviation MB, but at the end of the clinic, each Scout had the opportunity to go for a free 20-minute flight. TFF conducts free flights for youth within the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Young Eagle program. Each TF pilot must complete BSA Youth Protection Training and EAA Youth Protection Training. The EAA training includes an national Criminal Background Check. | $0 | $7,598 |
| TIGER FLIGHT FORMATION TEAM: 6 of the 11 TF pilots form the TigerFlight Formation Team. Five of them are former military pilots; two were fighter pilots. Each member of the TF Formation Team completed rigorous training and was certified by a Formation and Safety Team (FAST) check pilot. The pilots on the Team complete regular training to maintain their formation proficiency. In 2019 the TF Formation Team delivered six flyovers to our community. Four flyovers included missing-man salutes to veterans. TigerFlight supported: 1. Frank Davy Burial Chattanooga National Cemetery 2. Michael Fessler, Captain, USMC burial Georgia National Cemetery 3. Veteran Advisory Council Memorial Day Observance, Georgia Nation Cemetery 4. ACE Academy Final Day; Paulding County Airport 5. Internment of unclaimed WW II remains, Georgia National Cemetery 6. | FAA AVIATION CAREER EDUCATION ACADEMY: In June 2019 Tiger Flight supported the FAA STEM Aviation and Space Education program (https://www.faa.gov/education/about/) via the Aviation Career Education Academy at Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport in Dallas, Georgia. 50 high school students attended the week-long academy. Six Tiger Flight pilots flew a 4-ship formation to the airport. After a short airshow they landed. The students spread out around the 4 aircraft for close looks at the aircraft. They sat in the pilot seats and chatted about aviation opportunities. The pilots joined the students for lunch and further discussions about aviation careers. | $0 | $1,520 |
| SECOND SATURDAY FREE FLIGHTS: TigerFlight hosts organized youth groups on Second Saturdays. In 2019 TF hosted Summit Quest which supports families affected by cancer. 21 Summit Quest youth enjoyed 20-min aircraft flights and tours of the airport. | $0 | $1,520 |
| AIRPORT FIELD TRIPS: In 2019 TF hosted four middle school and high school groups totaling 117 students. Each group learned about the physics of flight, aircraft instruments, parts of an aircraft, and experienced a tour of the airport facilities. The students also get to sit in the cockpit or the aircraft and watch as they move the flight controls. | $0 | $1,520 |
| "PILOT IN COMMAND OF YOUR LIFE" PRESENTATIONS: TF pilots offer these motivational presentations to youth groups and schools. This presentation is usually part of any field trip to the TF Hangar and time-permitting, it's part of the Aviation MB clinics. Pilots speak about their experiences in aviation and weave through their path to becoming a pilot. The central themes include: It's up to you to Dream and take steps to pursue your Dream. Dream!! Establish a record of making appropriate decisions, pursue your dreams (not somebody else's). Establish excellence as a way of life, Don't be Good ...Be Great! Make plans to achieve your dreams, think long term, seek leadership opportunities, set short-term goals that lead to your long-term goal.
