Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11

The form 990 is prepared by the treasurer using the compliation provided by the outside accountant. The return is then reviewed by the executive director and office manager. The full board receives a copy of the final draft before the return is filed.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Jpi requires staff and board members to review and sign the conflict of interest policy on a yearly basis. Jpi requires, in writing, explanations or descriptions of any potential conflict of interest prior to entering into any agreement in the event of a conflicting interest, the member that the conflict relates to is recused from voting on those issues.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

The initial search for the exeutive director was conducted in 2013 and included comparison of salaries for exective directors or organziation with similar size and mission as jpi. This comparison was used to determine the salary range of jpi's executive director annually. The board conducts performance reviews to deliberate and determine salary adjustments for the executive director. This discussion was documented int he board minutes.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

Governing documents, conflicts of interest statement, and financial statements are available by request.
