“Compensation of Officers, Directors, Trustees, Key Employees. The Board of Directors has charged the Executive Committee with making recommendations to the Board for determination of compensation of the President/CEO. Information is made available to assist in establishing compensation that is fair and reasonable including, recent surveys and/or analysis of like organizations in the region; specific compensation data for similar positions in organizations of similar size and complexity in the regions. Information collected with relavance to President/CEO compensation is reviewed by the Chair of Human Resources Committee who presents this data to the Executive Committee (Senior Management Compensation Committee) for consideration in developing the Committee's recommendation to the Board of Directors as to terms of an employment agreement, if any and annual compensation to be paid to the President/CEO. The Board of Directors approves the President/CEO employment agreement and compensation. Information collected and relevant to compensation for other senior management personnel is reviewed with the President/CEO who considers the data in recommending annual compensation for these individuals. The CEO's recommendation is reviewed for reasonableness by the Executive Committee prior to recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval. Compensation is determined by terms of employment agreements (if any), the organizations performance, the employees contributions to that performance and his or her years of service. Additional factors considered are education or credentialing, prior experience, current and prior affiliations, scarcity of talent in job area, etc. Decisions on compensation for members of the Ability Beyond Disability senior management team are reached after review of the relevant survey information and data for like positions in like agencies in the region. Members of the senior management team whose compensation is being considered are not present at the meetings at which a decision on his or her compensation is reached.”

We help people with disabities have that say, by learning about their personal goals and setting a path to reach them. Our supports range from educational to recreational, life-skills instruction, transportation, and medical care to addiction recovery services and more. A secure and welcoming home does more than meet a basic physical need for shelter. It goes beyond-serving as an anchor in a challenging world, providing protection, comfort and support. Our independent living programs provide dignity, self-respect and the foundation for economic and social success. Ability Beyond measures the success of our independent living programs based on the number of individuals who maintain their housing year after year, the number of individuals who avail themselves of social entitlements, the number of individuals who benefit from residential programming (including lifeskills instruction) to find competitive employment, and the number of individuals who participate actively in their communities. We track this data day-to-day, with annual reporting requirements to state agencies that fund our homes. We also deliver client satisfaction surveys annually to determine the impact of our work quality of life and personal fulfillment. Since moving to our Chappaqua location in late 2015, we have more than doubled the number of people served in New York day and employment programs! Meaningful work, social interactions of the workplace and earning a paycheck are the essentials to independence and self-worth. Ability Beyond's over 60-year track record of success in job training and placement has helped thousands of people to gain meaningful employment in their communities. Through our Employment Programs, we help individuals by training them for fulfilling work opportunities, providing job placement assistance, and helping them maintain their jobs for the long term. Our dedicated and experienced staff design individualized strategies to help meet personal employment goals. We provide group supported employment, career development services, work readiness/youth employment services, supported employment, customized employment, assessment services and job shadowing. |
