Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The organization's mission is to bring together and mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses, as well as those enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs; convey the standards and ethics of the nursing profession; promote development of the skills that students will need as responsible and accountable members of the nursing profession; advocate for high quality, evidence-based, affordable and accessible health care; advocate for and contribute to advances in nursing education; develop nursing students who are prepared to lead the profession in the future.

The governing and voting body of the association is composed of delegates from the constituent associations and members of the national student nurses' association board of directors.

The form 990 is reviewed by the executive director and director of fin & admin. It is provided to the board following filing with the irs and is available on guidestar for public viewing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

A conflict of interest statement is signed annually by all board members and officers and given to the executive director. In addition, if an actual or potential conflict comes up during the year, the individual is required to inform the executive director. When a conflict is being discussed, the interested person must recuse himself/herself from the discussion and any voting related to it.
